Our passion for home baked food shines through in all that we make. Gather offers a diverse range of options from fully catered buffets, private dine at home catered events, regular or one off orders of home made bread, cakes and tarts for collection or local delivery.
Our focus is on using quality ingredients, supporting local producers and bringing people together to enjoy good food.
Who is Gather?
Hi, I'm Anne. yes, that's me in the photograph. I attained my 5 star food hygiene rating in late May 2025 and have certificates in Level 2 Food safety and hygiene in catering and allergen awareness training.
I have 30+ years experience in catering and the food and hospitality industry. I began by washing up in our local village pub in Cumbria in 1994 and though it took a few more years to properly follow in my Mum's footsteps and move from the sink to the stove, when I did, i fell in love with it. I gained experience in Italian and Greek cooking styles, worked in a tourist trap coaching inn at the heart of the Lake District and was head chef in a vegetarian kitchen in the funky suburb of Chorlton in Manchester.
Having taken some time out to get married and have our son, by the time we arrived in Antrobus on the back of the pandemic in August 2022; I knew I wanted to cook for people again. I began by volunteering in the local community cafe and from there I helped at other village events. Cooking an evening meal for 80+ diners at the Rose Queen Fete, making and selling almost 100 mince pies at the Christmas Fair and various levels of baking for other fundraisers. As the baking got noticed and people began to ask if I would take private orders the idea for 'Gather' started to emerge.
We are family
We, are my family. That is to say, my husband Jon and our son George. They support me in all of my culinary endeavours, often giving up weekends to help me. Jon in particular spends a lot of time filling the dishwasher and washing up, driving me to the shops, lifting and shifting and generally helping in any way he can. The pay off being they get to taste a lot of lovely samples along the way.
